About CyclingWeather

This site compiles information collected from public sources to produce weather reports that can help cyclists determine if riding conditions are good. All displayed weather information is obtained from the National Weather Service sites http://radar.weather.gov, http://www.wrh.noaa.gov, http://www.crh.noaa.gov, http://www.srh.noaa.gov,and http://www.erh.noaa.gov.

Since this site relies on the National Weather Service for information, it may become unavailable if the NWS chooses to make its data unavailable for any reason. This site is provided as is with no guarantee of service or support and it may be modified or withdrawn without warning. Because it relies on public information and is provided for personal use only, the author will not accept any advertising or payment.

If you are interested in making your own weather site using NWS data, I found http://www.weather.gov/xml/ particularly useful for learning about the NWS SOAP service and http://www.srh.noaa.gov/jetstream/remote/ridge_download.htm particularly useful for learning how to download and use radar images. This site also relies heavily on GPS and zip code data acquired from the census bureau.

Good faith efforts have been made to ensure that all information used here belongs in the public domain -- information compiled here was obtained exclusively from government servers. If you are aware of improper use of information on this site, please contact the author and explain the nature of the problem.
